The only downside I can see is the color visibility. Now to be clear it will write on anything. It's just some colors aren't as bright on certain things but they are good quality and plenty of product for the money considering this isn't a pack of #2 pencils. Would recommend to anyone who sews, quilts, or obviously in construction or for home projects.Better than regular lumber pencils. Comes with lots of extra fillers as well as 3 different colors for different material marking.Will be buying more for multiple jobsites.The product itself gets 5 stars. Its a solid mechanical pencil with thick lead. I’m a carpenter and use this daily. The 4 stars is because the two times ordering these, one or 2 either came broken or the caps missing on top which makes them unusable. Other than that, it’s a good pencil that does it’s job.Never going to go back to regular pencils again.!!These are good mechanical pencils. I am a finish carpenter by trade. So require a fine point on my pencil. The wood pencil leads break of to easy, even during sharpening. I ordered 2.0mm mechanical pencils three years back. They work well, but the sharpener in the top fell off quick. These pencils look and feel sturdy, the sharpener looks like it will stay with the pencil, the lead does not break easily, and the tip is sharp. The black lead can be push back in the barrel to protect the tip. However if you push the red lead in it will not come back out. You have to take the sharpener off the top and push it out.Customer service is good. One pencil had a small defect. It was taken care off quickly.This is a great pencil for marking holes, but the threads on the sharpener cap are so weak it falls out if you look at it funny. I can’t carry it in my pocket because the sharpener will just fall out and go away, which makes it kind of useless, as to replace a carpenter pencil I would need to be able to carry itArrived in a box that looked like it went through a washing machine, 4 pencils were broken or had parts missing and all the packs of lead had broken pieces as well, returned item. Stick with PICA pencilsOne will not work out of the package and two others have started shooting the push end out I've had to search for them around the bench and floor. a week later now and all but 2 of the pencils have broken and the red and yellow leads are not marking darker woodsThese are great carpenter pencils and I really like the design due to the long nose tip. Pencils I've had in the past have prevented me using them because the nose was always too small and never went through the hole that I was marking, making them kind of useless. These however I can see coming in very handy on lots of different applications. These might not mark through the smallest of holes but on most average tasks you will find these are just fine and will fit through the hole you are marking without a problem.I love the fact that these come in 5 different colours because the standard grey pencil mark can't be seen on certain materials so here at least you have a choice of different ones to use and one of them are bound to be visible on almost any colour material. You won't run out of lead either as these come with 5 pencils and 5 sets of lead, making them excellent value for money.Two of the pencils dont push the lead out when i click on them. I have to use another pencil lead to push the lead that is in the pencil from the top so that it protrudes a little before it can start clicking. Not the best i must sayLOVE OVERALL WITH PACKGAING, LOTS OF EXTRAS WITH PURCHASE. AND VERY EASY TO USE, VERY HANDY TO KEEP IT WITH YOU. LOVE ITPencil it worksLovely very accurate when marking out
