I know that laid as a base, the do make other colors slightly lighter.The best White Charcoal pencils I have used. Easy blend. Soft lead.These are by far the best white charcoal pencils I've bought, and I've have bought a bunch of different ones. They write on everything. Some of the others only write on certain things. These are the only ones I will use from now on.These charcoal pencils work well when marking dark surfaces. The charcoal, though soft, can be sharpened to a nice point.
